bermuda's oldest paint store

Loving these images from Rowe Spurling Paint Co. website in Bermuda.  I've always appreciated Bermuda homes for using color in a way that takes full advantage of the beautiful sunlight and natural colors in the surrounding environment.  And although all of these images may not be from designs originated in Bermuda, they are a reflection of the clean lines, strong colors, and classic design found throughout the island.  Couldn't resist the boat images as well.  Enjoy!

hot new releases

Isn't it wonderful that Amazon.com sends email notifications for new titles in interior design, as well as titles available for pre-order?  Here are some 'hot new releases' I might be adding to my library very soon.  The new Charlotte Moss Decorates to be sure and Litchfield Style looks interesting, as well as the new Matthew Patrick Smyth. Enjoy!

trade secrets, bunny's garden

Everyone knows I love a good home and garden tour. Thanks to Lisa and her fabulous blog Hamptontoes,
I've made a date to attend the Trade Secrets two-day charity event in Connecticut in May.  Lisa had an amazing interview with Bunny Williams, who I also adore, and Bunny announced that her garden would be back on the tour this year due to popular demand.  Trade Secrets benefits Women's Support Services of Northwestern CT and this event "offers garden lovers the chance to indulge their not-so-secret passion." The event is May 14th & 15th and includes five gardens.  Purchase your advance tickets at their website or call 1.860.364.1080.  Benefitting a great cause and enjoying some of the most amazing gardens at the same time - what fun!  The event is sponsored by Connecticut Cottages & Gardens, which is a beautiful publication that you should definitely check out.   Enjoy!

spring thinking

With the rain melting the snow away this morning, I'm having thoughts of Spring! The daffodils are peeking their tips above the mulch, and Mackenzie-Childs has sent out their new garden party themed catalog just in time.  I'm usually not a huge fan of their pottery, but there is something fun and whimsical about their new outdoor furniture and I've always loved their wrought iron garden gates. I'm loving the fun bonnet chair and the pot stakers! Wouldn't their new iron gate, Flower Basket, be so beautiful placed between stacked stone pillars? Enjoy!
