A Designer's/Blogger's Paradise

Blogfest 2013 NYC has come and gone.  But, I'll never forget the two days of fun I had last week at the event!  We began Blogfest On Design 2013 with the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club 41st Annual Decorator Show House, then headed off to Hearst Towers for a hilarious designer panel with Alexa Hampton, Thom Filicia, and meeting Team Kravet from the "Kravet Family (could Ellen and Scott Kravet be any kinder?)."  We finished off our day with a cocktail party at the coolest place on earth: Newel Antiques!  While drinking champagne gimlets (yes, tres decadent!) I met the editor of my favorite magazine ever (Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles) Clinton Smith (who is as genuine and sweet as he looks) and his wonderfully fun boss Adam Japko; and enjoyed shaking hands with David Easton, exchanging pleasantries with Suzanne Kasler and Tony Baratta, and discussing all aspects of design with Alexa Hampton. I think Ms. Hampton is probably the funniest and smartest woman I've ever met!  I had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing and wonderful people throughout the course of two days, including Marisa Marcantonio from Stylebeat.blogspot.com and Mindy and Tiffani and Barbara and Linda and Leigh and Austin ....the list goes on and on.   The experience was .... well, downright AWESOME!  At Newel Antiques, I was awed and amazed by their massive 6 floors of inventory (there is a whole blog entry in and of itself.)  If you ever get the chance, you must go!  What truly amazed me over all, was how down to earth and friendly everyone was throughout the course of the two days.  Kravet has truly created something special here that I hope will continue for many years!  I'll post many more exciting images, discussing what fabulous things Kravet, Lee Jofa and Brunschwig & Fils have in the works in the way of fabrics, furniture and more in the next few weeks -- it is absolutely astonishing what they are accomplishing and what beautiful things we have to look forward to in the coming months !! Can't wait till next year - BLOGFEST 2014! Enjoy!
