Visiting Edith Wharton's home in the Berkshires of Lenox, MA has long been on my bucket list. As a lover of literature and design,
The Mount is the perfect place for me. Until I get there, I will enjoy this tantalizing book written by Richard Guy Wilson, Commonwealth Professor of Architectural History at the University of Virginia. Wilson, along with photographer John Arthur, "does a masterful job of showing how from 1902 until 1911 Wharton lived, wrote, and entertained a sparkling roster of visitors at The Mount. See Rebecca Christian's piece about the new title at
Traditional Home. Wharton wrote not only the novellas that we've come to love, but also spent a great deal of time writing about decorating, travel, and gardening -- my kind of woman! Wilson's book release date is September 4th and can be pre-ordered
here. Enjoy!

I was there years ago and it was absolutely heavenly. Lenox is a beautiful area and spending a good part of the day there was such treat, the mansion is fabulous. The Age of Innocence is still one of my absoltute favorite books...what a talent and pioneer for all women she was!
